Alumni Success Stories

For our second Alumni Success Story, we spoke to Nick Lingley about his experience working for Vantage Point, and how it set him up for where he is now.

Throughout his time with Vantage Point, Nick worked on projects at two tier one investment banks, as well as an investment management firm. He completed the two years with Vantage Point, and now works as a project manager at a major financial institution in London.

What influenced your choice of profession initially and why did you chose Vantage Point?

I did an economics degree at university and had always been interested in the financial sector, which is what led me towards a career in finance and banking. Vantage Point attracted me because it was able to provide me with a great starting point through the exposure to large banking clients, and the opportunity to work on many different projects to learn and expand my knowledge.

Can you tell us a bit more about your experience working for Vantage Point?

Vantage Point offers great opportunities and clients to work with, and really gives you the chance to progress your career. I was given real responsibility from the start when working with clients, and the scope of the projects and the stakeholders involved taught me lot and gave me a really good basis for the future.

What advice would you give to someone about to start the academy?

Learn as much as you can on the projects and really use the experience to progress your career. Working for the different clients was a great experience and really set me up for where I am now.
